Our first photo assignment was color. Basically any photos with a pop of color This week, I liked the photo assignment because it was very open. There were lots of things that can fit the category and have a pop of color. I am proud of my best photo because it is bright, yet still has an interesting angle, and plays with lighting and focus.

This week we framed our own photos that we had previously taken using different framing designs in photoshop. At first, I did the gallery frames which were the hardest so I thought this assignment was going to be long and painful, but after I moved on, it was simple, fast, and enjoyable. I am not happy with how the lasso edges turned out because they look so choppy but I like the sprayed strokes, and gallery frames look the best.
For this assignment we had to take photos to visually represent each principle of design.
I enjoyed this assignment because I took quality time to make sure I got plenty of photos that did each category justice. I also continued using previous camera techniques from digital photography 1. I feel like I built on from our first composition assignment and definitely took higher quality photos.
In the start of the trimester I felt somewhat good about my photography skills. I had previously taken both Multimedia's in middle school, and we practiced composition while taking photos so the first couple of weeks were pretty self explanatory. For some reason in multimedia I never really learned all of the camera settings so I was a little bit nervous about having to learn how to adjust the settings. Once we went through camera basics, I was a little bit more confident until we got to the photoshop assignments. Those were quite a CHALLENGE. I feel like over time, they got easier but some of them were definitely more difficult than others.
My photo quality in the beginning was not that good and towards the end they were OK, but I feel like my best photos peaked in the middle of the photo weeks. I was really proud of my landscape photos, my animal photos, and my macro images. I struggled with my first week of photographing people, and my shadows and light. Overall, I have grown so much as a photographer and a photoshop user in this class. For this assignment, we had to be creative and come up with concepts that were punny. We had to do 3 different puns and string them together and edit them in photoshop. I had fun with this assignment because it was easy, and it allowed me to be very creative. I played around with the gradient tool and used the select tool in photoshop. Overall this was a good assignment.
This week I chose to do black and white because I had some good photos but they didn't necessarily fit into any of the categories available and I thought they would look good with the black and white filter. I think overall that my photos turned out well. I took a couple of photos of things in my room and took other photos from previous weeks that I hadn't used yet. I didn't struggle this week, it was fairly simple.
For this assignment we were instructed to choose our photoshop assignments based on our level of skill and the amount we did. Pop of color was required. During this assignment I learned a lot. I had an easier time with the polaroid and pop of color one except for knowing how to place the polaroids I played around and changed that many times. The mountain orb one introduced some new skills and the layers were a bit more difficult to deal with. Overall, I enjoyed this assignment and I thought it was beneficial.
